Anoushiravan Mohseni came to Vienna from Tehran with his mother and brother in 1985 during the First Gulf War. He comes from a musical and military family, which shaped him. Since the age of eight he learned the Persian instruments Tombak and Daf from his father Jahangir Mohseni and the grandmaster Jahangir Malek. From the age of 13 he performed with the Tombak - initially with family and friends, later in international concert halls.

In Vienna he first attended the Schopenhauerstrasse secondary school and then passed the HTL high school diploma in building construction. After completing his training, Mohseni worked as a building contractor in Vienna.

In addition to training and music, he also developed a passion for martial arts early on. From the age of 13, Mohseni trained in various martial arts - initially wrestling, later kickboxing, Thai boxing and martial arts. On March 11, 2000 he became European champion - 75 kg in K-1. On September 22, 2001 he became world champion in Thai boxing by knockout. He ended his career as a martial artist and trainer in 2012 and gave up his work as a bodyguard in 2017.

Since 2013 he has mainly worked as an actor.

As an actor in Iran, Mohseni primarily appears in action and war films. He made his film debut in Austria in 2013 in the film “Shirin – My Sister's Honor”, which he produced himself. The short film follows the revenge campaign of an Iranian student who wants to atone for his sister's suicide after being raped.

A year later he starred in the film “The Last Dance” by Iranian filmmaker Houchang Allahyari, which won the Grand Diagonale Film Prize as best Austrian feature film in 2014. In 2015 he played the lead role in the Austrian short film “Merkenstein” directed by Florian Bayer. In 2018, he was nominated for an award at the FICTS (Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs) Festival in Milan for his role in the Iranian film “Sniff”.

In 2020/21, Mohseni became known to a wider audience through his role as “Abdullah” alongside Harald Krassnitzer in the Austrian feature film “Taktik” directed by Hans-Günther Bücking and Marion Mitterhammer-Bücking. The police film is based on a real event when a group led by Adolf Schandl took three hostages in the high-security prison in Graz in 1996.

In spring 2023, Mohseni was the main actor in “Hades – An (Almost) True Story” directed by Andreas Kopriva. The idea for the film came from Mohseni himself. He then wrote the script together with Horst Günther Fiedler. The film is partly based on his own experiences as well as experiences confided to Mohseni. The idea and the script not only impressed the film production company MR and ORF, but also some nationally and internationally known fellow actors. Alma Hasun, Fritz Karl, Proschat Madani, Tim Seyfi, Aglaia Szyszkowitz, Anica Dobra, Desiree Nosbusch and Aleksander Petrvić also appear in the film.

As an integration ambassador for the “Together: Austria” initiative from 2018-2020, Mohseni campaigned for improved integration of students with a migrant background.
